Spdate Review: AI Profiles, Auto-Renewal and Real-Date Risks

Spdate is not a conventional free dating site. Its own terms say the platform may add AI profiles when activity is low, and those profiles are marked with a UP icon for “unreal personality.”

Spdate also says profiles marked ON or OFF represent real people who are online or offline. So, in theory, real dates may be possible with real members — but an AI profile cannot meet you, and its messages are computer-generated.

My verdict: Spdate is a high-risk mixed platform rather than a straightforward dating app. It markets itself as free, but its billing policy says free users get only limited features while full access requires an auto-renewing subscription. The deciding issue is simple: check the profile label before investing emotionally, sharing information or paying for Premium access.

Evidence checked — July 2026

  • Official site, terms, billing policy, risk notice and safety guidance.
  • Trustpilot score, notices and recurring review pattern.
  • Official disclosure of AI-profile labels and subscription renewal rules.
  • Reviewer claims are individual allegations, not independently proven facts.

Spdate at a Glance

Is Spdate legit?
Spdate is a live operating dating platform with public terms, a subscription system and a clear AI-profile disclosure. But it is not a normal dating app where every profile should be assumed to be a real, available person.

Is Spdate free?
Registration is free and the site advertises free dating. However, its billing policy says free Guests receive only minimal access, while fuller access requires a Premium or Platinum subscription.

How does Spdate make money?
Through recurring subscriptions. Its billing policy describes Premium and Platinum memberships, a short trial that requires card details, monthly renewal and optional bundled offers on other company-operated sites.

Can you meet real people on Spdate?
Possibly, but only profiles identified as real should be treated as potential real-life matches. Spdate says AI profiles are marked UP, while ON and OFF labels are used for real profiles.

What is the main risk?
Confusing a computer-generated interaction with a real person, then moving into an auto-renewing subscription before you have established that the profile is genuinely real, nearby and interested in meeting.

What the UP, ON and OFF Labels Mean

This is the part of Spdate that matters most.

Its official terms and risk notice say that the platform may register AI profiles as users during periods of low attendance, so that activity and chat can continue. Those AI profiles are marked with a UP icon.

  • UP: Unreal personality. This is Spdate’s label for an AI profile.
  • ON: Real personality online.
  • OFF: Real personality offline.

Spdate also says messages from AI profiles are computer-generated and are not moderated or checked. That means you should not take anything an UP profile says as proof of who you are talking to, where they live, what they want or whether a meeting is possible.

This is a more transparent disclosure than many sketchy dating sites provide. But it also means you need to do more work than usual before treating a match as genuine. A horny message is not evidence of a real woman nearby. It may simply be a computer keeping the dashboard lively at 2am.

Spdate Markets Itself as Free — But Full Access Is Subscription-Based

Spdate’s homepage promotes meeting real people for free. The billing policy gives the more useful version of the story: free Guests get only a minimal level of features, while Subscription Members receive extra functionality through Premium or Platinum membership packages.

The terms say Premium features may include priority in other members’ feeds, increased visibility, access to active users, unlimited photos and the ability to push messages higher in the queue.

Platinum membership may add features such as seeing users who want to meet you and sending or receiving meet requests.

I could verify the billing structure, but not one public fixed monthly price. The policy says the price is displayed on the payment page. That means you should not assume the first figure you see is the long-term monthly cost.

The Trial, Auto-Renewal and Cancellation Rules

Spdate’s billing policy says a Premium subscription may begin with a free trial, normally lasting 24 hours unless the payment page says otherwise.

To begin that trial, the policy says you must enter card details and accept a $0.99 pre-authorisation charge. Spdate says this amount should be returned within seven business days.

After that, the subscription renews monthly until you cancel it.

That does not make the billing model automatically improper. Plenty of subscription services renew. But the cancellation deadline is stricter than many users expect: Spdate says you need to request cancellation at least five calendar days before the end of a paid subscription period to avoid renewal.

The policy also says special bonus offers may combine Spdate Premium features with subscriptions to other websites operated by the company. Those offers may renew monthly too, and the policy says some can only be cancelled by email or through the payment descriptor on your card statement.

Read the payment page carefully before confirming anything. Take a screenshot of the price, renewal interval and cancellation instructions. It is boring admin, but less boring than discovering a subscription you forgot existed.

Can You Exchange Contact Details on Spdate?

Spdate’s terms prohibit users from putting phone numbers, street addresses, email addresses, surnames or URLs in their public profile.

That does not necessarily prove that private contact exchange is impossible in chat. But it does mean your profile cannot openly contain the usual routes for moving off-platform.

Its safety guidance also tells users to keep communication inside the system until they trust the other person, on the basis that Spdate cannot track scammers once a conversation moves to email or messaging apps.

That advice is sensible from a safety perspective. In practice, though, it creates another reason to establish that someone is a real ON or OFF member before you pay for upgrades or invest heavily in conversation.

Spdate’s Adult Messages and Data-Sharing Consent

There is another detail worth reading before registration. The sign-up page says that by registering you agree to newsletters, sexually explicit messages and sharing personal data with third-party partners.

The privacy policy also describes advertising, marketing emails and personal-data sharing where consent is provided. You can opt out of marketing communications, but service-related emails cannot be opted out of while you have an account.

That does not mean Spdate is selling your identity around the internet. It does mean you should use a dedicated email address for adult dating sites, read the consent language before clicking through, and avoid linking the account to information you would not want floating around marketing systems.

What Spdate Reviews on Trustpilot Suggest

At the time checked, Spdate had a TrustScore of 2.0 out of 5 from 11 reviews. Eighty-two percent of those reviews were one-star, although the sample is very small and Trustpilot itself notes that the company has not invited customers to review, so the page may not be representative.

The accessible positive feedback was thin and old. One 2019 reviewer described it as free, while a 2024 reviewer said there were many artificial profiles but that some seemed good.

The recurring negative pattern was more consistent. Reviewers repeatedly alleged artificial or bot-like profiles, people claiming to be nearby but never arranging a date, requests for money or off-site sign-ups, and confusing billing.

One June 2026 reviewer alleged an unwanted $70 renewal after believing the subscription had ended. Another reviewer described conversations with people who claimed to be local and interested in meeting, but said they eventually asked for money instead. These are individual allegations, not independently verified findings.

The important distinction is this: Trustpilot complaints about artificial profiles are not the only evidence here. Spdate itself discloses that some profiles are AI-generated. The review claims are still unproven, but the underlying concern is not imaginary: you need to check whether you are talking to a UP profile or a real member before you assume a chat has dating potential.

Skip the AI Chat. Find Real Dates Instead.

Spdate may contain real members, but its own AI-profile disclosure makes it a poor choice for anyone who wants a simple, reliable route to genuine local dating.

Always check current pricing and terms before joining any dating service. But these options are intended for real-world dating rather than AI-profile uncertainty and recurring subscription traps.

Who Spdate Might Suit

  • Adults who understand the UP, ON and OFF profile labels and are willing to use them carefully.
  • People who can treat the service as entertainment rather than assuming every chat has real dating potential.
  • Users who are comfortable reading billing terms, managing subscriptions and cancelling early where needed.
  • People who can recognise that an AI profile is not a person available for a date.

Who Should Avoid Spdate

  • Anyone who wants a straightforward app where all profiles are presumed to be real people.
  • People looking for quick local hookups or simple contact exchange.
  • Users who dislike auto-renewing subscriptions, trials requiring card details or cancellation deadlines.
  • Anyone likely to mistake sexual attention online for real interest or availability.
  • People who have previously lost money through dating-site billing, off-platform requests or romance scams.

How to Use Spdate More Safely

  • Check every profile label before you reply. Avoid treating UP profiles as real matches.
  • Do not enter card details unless you understand the exact renewal price and date.
  • Cancel well before the stated five-day deadline if you do not want the membership to renew.
  • Keep a screenshot of the checkout page, confirmation email and cancellation request.
  • Do not send money, gift cards, crypto or financial details to another member.
  • Do not assume a profile is local simply because it claims to be nearby.
  • Use a separate email address for adult dating registrations and marketing-heavy services.
  • Only discuss meeting after you have established that the profile is labelled as a real member and behaves consistently.

Spdate FAQ

Is Spdate a scam?
Spdate is a live dating platform with public terms and billing policies. But it is not a conventional all-real-person dating site: its own terms disclose AI profiles that can send computer-generated messages during low-activity periods.

Does Spdate use AI profiles?
Yes. Spdate says it may register AI profiles during low attendance. These profiles are marked UP and described as unreal personalities.

Can you meet someone from Spdate?
Potentially, but only a profile labelled ON or OFF is described by Spdate as a real person. AI profiles marked UP cannot meet you.

Is Spdate really free?
Basic registration is free, but Spdate says Guests receive limited access. Full access requires Premium or Platinum subscription membership.

Does Spdate auto-renew?
Yes. Its billing policy says paid subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. It says cancellation should be requested at least five calendar days before the end of the paid period.

Does Spdate offer a free trial?
The billing policy says Premium membership may begin with a 24-hour free trial, or another period shown at checkout. It also says card details are required and a $0.99 pre-authorisation may be taken and later refunded.

Are all Spdate profiles fake?
No. Spdate distinguishes AI profiles from real profiles using UP, ON and OFF labels. But you should not assume a profile is real without checking that label and using normal dating-site caution.

What is the biggest Spdate risk?
The biggest risk is paying for a subscription while mistaking computer-generated interaction for a genuine dating opportunity with a real person.

Final Verdict: Is Spdate Worth Using?

Spdate is more transparent than many adult dating sites about the fact that AI profiles can appear on the platform. But that disclosure also makes it difficult to recommend as a straightforward route to real dating.

The site may contain real users, and its terms explicitly discuss personal meetings. However, the platform’s AI profile system, limited free tier, auto-renewing Premium memberships and small but heavily negative Trustpilot sample make it a poor fit for anyone who simply wants to meet a genuine nearby person without second-guessing every interaction.

If you use it, treat the UP label as an immediate stop sign for real-date expectations. If you are looking for something simpler, start with my top dating and hookup apps instead.
